Initial Orientation:
Our two-hour orientation includes initial instruction, downloading and explaining necessary software, and completing FAA paperwork to get you started as a student pilot. At orientation you'll receive a backpack with everything needed to become one of our students including a headset, iPad Mini 5 with cellular chip, fuel sump, batteries, flashlight, log book, polo, foggles, and lanyard.
We have two options for your orientation fee:
1. $800 Includes orientation and backpack with David Clark headset
2. $1,600 Includes orientation and backpack with Lightspeed Zulu 3 headset
The orientation fee is offered at our approximate cost, so if you already have one or more of the items above, let us know so we can adjust the cost for you.
Other Miscellaneous Fees You Can Expect to Pay to Get Started As A Student Pilot:
Maps (paper or Mini iPad with Fore Flight Subscription $150/yr)
FAR/AIM Book (App $15 or Paperback yearly purchase)
Medical Certificate (Class 3 for Private, Class 1 required for Commercial approx. $175) acquired from an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) www.faa.gov/pilots/amelocator
Each license and Rating also requires taking an FAA written exam: approximately $175
Provo Municipal Airport Pass $25/yr
